Better Cotton upgrades to certification

The Swiss organisation is also phasing out mass balancing in favour of physical traceability, adding another level of security and trust to the label. Speaking of which, a new label for ‘Physical Better Cotton’ will be available to brands and retailers later this year.
The switch to a physical tracer was launched by Better Cotton in 2023, and the organisation said that 306,000kg of Physical Better Cotton had been sourced by its members.
The organisation’s former mass-balance based system will be fully phased out by May of next year.
