Students showcase circular thinking

Students from Universidad Anáhuac México have collaborated with Global Denim on a project focused on textile innovation and sustainability.

The main goal of Circular Denim Moda Anáhuac México was to develop a fashion collection in denim aligned with circular economy principles, incorporating research, textile experimentation and innovative design strategies.

The first stage involved industry research, including case studies of sustainable brands. Students explored supply chain traceability, lifecycle assessment of cotton and innovations in fibres, pigments and low-impact dyeing processes.

In the second phase, students applied design methodologies for textile experimentation, developing materials and techniques aligned with circularity principles.

Guided by the mill’s creative director, designer Anatt Finkler, each student produced three complete looks, blending contemporary aesthetics, functionality and sustainable consciousness.

“Beyond the garments themselves, this project instilled in students a critical and informed perspective on their future roles as designers - creatives with conscience, capable of offering real solutions to the challenges facing the fashion industry,” said Ms Finkler.
