Nature Coatings unveils customisable bio-based black pigments

Nature Coatings, a biochemical company that turns wood waste into black pigments, has launched BioBlack Blends, a platform that allows for application-specific customisation, which the company said allows for a more seamless integration into existing products.
Manufacturers and brands can now request black pigments and dispersions based on specific particle size, pigment loading, carrier, compatibility, compliance and costs.
Jane Palmer, CEO of Nature Coatings, who has explained the process in a Dialogue with Inside Denim, said: “We can now integrate BioBlack Blends into just about any application, no matter how specific.”
Founded in 2017, the company is backed by investors including Regeneration.VC, Fashion for Good, The 22 Fund and Leonardo DiCaprio and has been used by brands including Levi’s, the Kering Group and Jack&Jones.
