Vicunha highlights recycled water as part of AW25/26 showcase

Brazilian textile company Vicunha is showcasing an initiative that saves fresh and potable water in denim production by using only reclaimed water, with Ralf Dislich, managing director of Vicunha Europe, explaining more about the process during a roundtable at Bluezone in Munich.
Highlights of its autumn/winter 25/26 collection include Fit & Flex, which it says are particularly well-suited for the German market . Kursad Cakilcioglu, product development and sales manager for Vicunha in Europe, said: "Among this family, we have articles like Lucie, which offers an exceptionally soft touch and high performance with minimal growth and low shrinkage. These developments provide our customers in this region with unparalleled comfort and style, ensuring that our denim adapts seamlessly to their needs.”
The Premium Crafts and Regen collections feature fabrics crafted from a blend of locally sourced regenerative cotton, recycled fibres, natural dyes, hemp, linen, man-made cellulosic fibres. These collections also incorporate processes that drastically reduce water usage, said Vicunha. "Among the novelties, we are proud to offer fabrics produced with 100% bio-based pigment from Nature Coatings, which play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions and eliminating waste," added Mr Kursad.
The Ilheus fabric is made from 100% cotton and featuring an ecru finish. “With a unique appearance defined by a coloured effect achieved by ecru warp sheets and recycled fibres, the fabric offers a soft touch and a clear twill line, creating a one-of-a-kind visual appeal,” adds Kursad.
The Bluezone denim show takes place as part of Munich Fabric Start, September 3 and 4.
