ZDHC reflects on a decade of work
As part of a reflection on 2025, the CEO of ZDHC has said financial analysts began scrutinising chemical management, emissions disclosure and supply-chain transparency with the same seriousness they once reserved for economic metrics.
“The message is unmistakable,” commented Frank Michel. “Market access, investment potential and long-term competitiveness now depend on sustainability performance and circularity.”
The organisation, which was founded a decade ago, has united suppliers, brands, chemical formulators and machine manufacturers around one shared mission, he said. “This anniversary reminded us of something simple but powerful: meaningful progress comes from science-based work, collaboration and long-term commitment.”
The company’s achievements in 2025 included launching the Air Emissions Module, linking chemical inputs to real environmental impact; the digitalised Suppliers Road to Zero Programme, which offered suppliers a more structured path to stronger chemical management systems; and the Community Forum, a space for shared problem-solving.
During the year, the organisation changed its leadership structure to “strengthen governance” and will launch Supplier to Zero V2 this year.
