The Mills Fabrica explores Performance Without Toxicity

07/01/2026

Launching this month at its London base, The Mills Fabrica has curated 31 companies into an exhibition that will show how innovation, materials and systems could redefine clothing and footwear.

Although focused on sportswear rather than jeans, several of the exhibitors in Performance Without Toxicity are suppliers to the denim industry and will present their innovations aimed at cleaning up the fashion industry, generally.

The exhibition spotlights Japanese brand Goldwin and the breakthroughs backed by its corporate venture arm, including Brewed Protein fibre, developed by Spiber; Synflux’s algorithmic design technology, and PlaX plant-derived PLA.

Elastane maker Hyosung will showcasing recycled, recyclable and bio-based solutions while Lenzing and The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp will demonstrate bio-renewable materials at scale.

Other exhibitors include textile-to-textile innovator Ambercycle, heat-dissolvable threads-maker Resortecs, and Tera Mira, a bio-based elastane alternative made from seaweed.

The free exhibition at Fabrica X, Kings Cross, runs from 26 January to 26 June, Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm.

In autumn 2023, the Denim Futures exhibition took place in the same venue, running for six months.
