Success for HMS's first educational event

HMS (Hand Made Stone)’s ‘Denim After the Loom: The Hidden Impact of Stonewashing’ event at the Mills Fabrica in London brought together influential figures in the denim industry to discuss the future of sustainable denim production, with a focus on the washing process.
The event attracted guests including Katherine Hamnett, Ksenia Schnaider, Ian Berry and Doug Gunn, as well as representatives from retailers and brands such as ASOS, Primark, Paul Smith, Net-a-Porter and Givenchy.
A panel discussion, featuring Adriano Goldschmied, Blackhorse Lane’s Leanne Jae Callender, designer Federico Barengo, consultant Mohsin Sajid and HMS managing director Beyza Baykan, focused on sustainable washing practices, including HMS's technology, which replaces conventional pumice with more durable, reusable stones, reducing sludge and waste. Ms Callender commented: "HMS’s durability holds up to the claims, providing us with a sustainable solution that still delivers exceptional results."
Guests experimented with HMS Designer Pens and YKK accessories during the hands-on customisation workshop.
The event was sponsored by YKK, Bossa, Master Textile and Minority Denim.
