Denim Futures Exhibition promotes ‘transformative solutions’

Innovations platform The Mills Fabrica has launched a London-based exhibition called Denim Futures, showcasing “innovations set to shape the future of the denim industry” and which will run for six months at its showroom in King’s Cross.

The exhibition features fabrics and developments from companies including Pakistan’s AGI Denim, Italian chemicals company Officina39 and Tencel-maker Lenzing.

Designers, brands and environmental advocates will learn about the eco-friendly practices within the denim industry, said organisers, from innovative farming practices to pioneering recycling technologies.

Amy Tsang, acting head of Europe at The Mills Fabrica, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the innovators and brands that are shaping a more planet-positive future for the denim industry.

“Through spotlighting these transformative solutions, we hope it will educate and inspire others about the innovations that have the potential to create impactful change for generations to come.”

Other participants include Beyond Remade, Evocative, Renewcell, Xeros Tech, Nextevo,  Alexandra Armata, Lenzing, Fashionary, Nature Coatings, Sparxell, Zena Holloway, Officina39, Good Earth Cotton, Circ and Wizcot.

Hasan Javed, executive director at AGI Denim, added: "This is a pivotal moment for denim. As the consequences of climate change become increasingly evident, and consumers seek eco-conscious choices, we are excited to present our vision for responsible denim manufacturing."
