Fibretrace and Bossa have collaborated on blockchain-based ID technology – D-Chronicles – that will trace a product’s path from farm to shelf.

Using Fibretrace technology, an ID is embedded into the fabric, allowing consumers to view clothing’s movement through manufacturing and distribution.

“The future is transparent,” Bossa said when introducing the collaboration, “where all actors of a supply chain can be accountable for the information committed to the chain of custody, and the incentive for transparency is based on a trust count or rating system that allows others to make decisions based on peer reviews.”

Blockchain has the potential to transform the textile industry by making the supply chain transparent, Bossa said.
