AGI unveils ReFresh, denim made with 100% recycled water

Karachi-based AGI Denim recently introduced ReFresh Denim, denim created using only 100% recycled wastewater.

“While we can’t control how much water cotton needs to grow, we can rethink the way we use it in our factory. That’s why we revisited every step of our production process and developed ReFresh Denim,” AGI said.

The denim manufacturer currently recycles around 300,000 gallons of water daily, meaning that an average of 4.4 million gallons of fresh water are saved by the mill every month. “That’s enough to wash 1 million pairs of jeans,” it said.

AGI’s new effluent treatment plant, which recycles and circulates water until evaporation, will reportedly help recycle a million more gallons daily by 2022, meeting 85% of AGI’s freshwater needs.
