He has worked with the team at Munich Fabric Start (August 31 and September 1), preparing the Bluezone Denim Trends section, and said: “We are hearing it from all sides of the globe - blue denim is finally the new thing for the world’s ‘early adopters’.”
As part of a new hybrid way of working, a digital trends overview is available online, featuring interviews, videos and imagery. The digital Trendspace will also feature in the physical Trendzone, where denim themes have been spilt into four categories.
Mr Wrobel said: “At Trendzone, you can touch and feel the actual products and fabrics of about 100 denim exhibitors. I am pretty excited about this mix, which will show people how important both parts are. Physical fairs are impossible to replace, but digital can add some extra sensations.”
There will be an expo with Ruedi Karrer’s Jeans Museum (Zurich), highlighting some historical items and how they have withstood the test of time. “Not for the heritage point, but to highlight how resistant and sustainable, thanks to durability, denim is,” explains Mr Wrobel, “and how mending and upcycling can provide almost eternal life to staple denim.”
The denim trends will be explained during talks at 10.30am on August 31, and 11am on September 1.
