Kingpins cancels December's New York show

International denim show organiser Kingpins has announced that its New York event, originally scheduled to take place physically in December, has been cancelled.
The show was set to mark Kingpins’ return to in-person events following the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic.
Organisers put the cancellation down to rising infection rates and correspondingly low vaccination rates globally (particularly across denim-producing regions), plus “looming travel restrictions” and “gloomy warnings” from health officials.
Founder, Andrew Olah (pictured), commented: “The New York show would have marked two years between physical Kingpins shows, and we were eagerly looking forward to welcoming back the denim community in the USA. We thought our show would be an ideal time to kick off the Christmas season, rejoicing in the belief that the pandemic was behind us.”
Although the New York show has now been cancelled, Kingpins emphasised that its forthcoming digital offering will continue to go ahead, including Kingpins24 Global (formerly Amsterdam) from October 19 to 21 and Kingpins24 Latin America, scheduled to run November 9 through 10.
