Wrangler grows Made in USA collection
Kontoor brand Wrangler has launched a new series of state-specific jeans made from cotton grown in Alabama, California, North Carolina and Texas in its SS 2022 Rooted collection.

Participating farms were selected for their commitment to responsible land stewardship practices and include Martin Family Farm (Alabama), Tri T Farms (California), Buie Family Farm (North Carolina) and Vanderman Farms (Texas).

The cotton fibres used are traceable back to these farms and are part of the brand’s pledge to source 100% sustainable cotton by 2025, under the WeCare Wrangler platform.

Each Wrangler Rooted Collection state jean, one style for women and one for men, features subtle references to the provenance of its raw material in the rivets, patches and pocket lining which is printed with the name and signature of the farmer who grew the cotton fibres.

“From start to finish, our approach to this collection reflects the attitude of farmers toward the earth: responsible, respectful and rooted in US soil,” said Allen Montgomery, Wrangler vice-president for western and workwear (NAM). “The goal of the Rooted Collection is to honour the American farmer and promote traceability and sustainable farming practices including soil health, water saving techniques and regenerative agriculture.”
