Fresh legal perspective for Kontoor

Kontoor, the parent company behind US denim brands Lee and Wrangler, has appointed experienced attorney Tom Doerr to its executive leadership team, effective June 6. 

Mr Doerr will serve in the capacity of executive vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary. His experience to date encompasses similar roles at Wisconsin-based manufacturers including The Manitowoc Company and Jason Industries. 

Earlier in his career, Mr Doerr represented Manitowoc as assistant general counsel for international markets from Lyon, France and London, England. Upon commencement of his new role at Greensboro, North Carolina-based Kontoor, he will report directly into president, chief executive and chairman, Scott Baxter. 

“Tom brings 20 years of impressive professional experience and his global perspective will be invaluable as Kontoor continues to grow. His experience in compliance, litigation, risk management and other corporate matters for publicly-traded companies makes him a perfect addition to Kontoor as he takes on this critical role,” Mr Baxter commented.
