The Sustainable Angle prepares largest show yet

14/06/2022
The tenth edition of the Future Fabrics Expo, organised by the Sustainable Angle, will take place on June 28 and 29 in London.

The event, which seeks to promote the use of more sustainable fibres and fabrics in the apparel industry, is both a sourcing and a learning platform. For this edition, which the organisers say is its largest yet, will be held at Magazine, a larger venue.

In addition to the Innovation Hub, set up in a partnership with Parley for the Oceans, the event will also feature a new ‘Curated Area of Solutions’ that will focus on agricultural waste as feedstock for future fibres. It will feature ongoing research programmes supported by Fashion for Good and Canopy Planet, and is sponsored by the Laudes Foundation. LVMH in turn will sponsor a Biodiversity focus area.

The event presents swatches from a vast array of its member companies but also has a growing list of exhibitors. Among these, Bossa, Kipas, Advance Denim, Säntis Textiles, Ventile, along with Orange Fiber, Piñatex, Bananatex and Natural Fiber Welding will be present.

The programme of seminars will cover a variety of topics such as plastic-free fashion, regenerative agriculture, chemical recycling, organic cotton in transition, and forgotten fibres. This last one will be moderated by Mohsin Sajid and will bring together representatives from Bossa, Marmara Hemp and Bananatex. As the exhibition space is equipped with state-of-the-art livestream and audio services, these seminars will also be broadcast remotely.
