First ever ‘Made in Bangladesh week’ announced
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in partnership with the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) have announced the launch of a new week-long event to be held November 12 to 18, in Dhaka to promote the country as a “world-class manufacturing hub”.

This ‘fashion week’ dedicated to manufacturing will be featuring a wide array of events, from trade fairs to conferences to fashion shows and factory tours. The Bangladesh Denim Expo will be held during the event, as well as the Dhaka Apparel Expo. Awards in sustainability leadership, sustainable design and photography will be delivered. A fashion show highlighting fashion innovation is also planned, as well as the launch of an Innovation Centre for BGMEA.

The organisers expect to draw more than a thousand people, from home and abroad, including key stakeholders in the local and global fashion industry.

Mostafiz Uddin, founder and CEO of BAE and Bangladesh Denim Expo commented: “We are breaking new ground with this seminal event. With fashion sourcing teams and other executives facing constant demands on time, we wanted to provide a series of physical shows, exhibitions, seminars, networking opportunities, factory tours and much more, all in one location over the course of a few days.”
