Karl Mayer spurs Argentinian jeanmaking

German machinery manufacturer Karl Mayer has revealed that textile producer Enod is the first Argentinian company to have installed a Prodye-S indigo dyeing system on its premises, alongside a Prosize sizing machine.

Described as an advanced slasher dyeing system, the technology allows for savings of up to 20% of hydro and caustic soda thanks to its high flow rate and low speed combined with closed-design dyeing vats. It enables the achievement of a darker indigo hue with its shorter dye section and reduced dye bath.

The installation of the machinery means that denim can now be produced on-site, said Karl Mayer denim specialist Stefano Agazzi, reducing any need to import the fabric. “We are pleased to be able to contribute to the strengthening of Argentina’s economy,” Mr Mayer added.

Enod inaugurated a new 10,000-square-metre warehouse, weaving mill and indigo dyeing plant on its existing premises in La Rioja back in July.
