Advance Denim using Good Earth Cotton in Vietnam
China-based denim mill Advance Denim has partnered Australian cotton growing initiative Good Earth Cotton to secure a supply of the latter’s “climate-positive” cotton fibre to its Advance Sico production site in Nha Trang, Vietnam, which was completed in 2020.

The sustainability claims around the fibre are verifiable thanks to use of FibreTrace’s end-to-end, real-time traceability technology, developed by the same family behind Good Earth Cotton. Non-toxic, scannable FibreTrace markers, based on a luminescent pigment solution, are embedded into the raw fibre to ultimately produce a digital passport based on data collected at each step in the value chain.

“Advance Denim is proud to announce that we will be adding another layer of sustainability to our Advance Sico mill by partnering with Good Earth Cotton, bringing denim made with regenerative cotton to the Vietnam region,” commented the manufacturer’s US marketing director, Mark Ix.

The denim supplier plans for 90% of its product lines to be made from more eco-conscious fibres by 2023. Its first collection made with Good Earth Cotton will be ready to order this coming December.
