The Transformers Foundation welcomes new board member

23/02/2023
The Transformers Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 2020 to promote better practices in the denim industry, has announced today that bluesign CEO Daniel Rufenacht has joined its Founder’s Board. This board includes Gaviland founder Miguel Sanchez, Alberto de Conti, who heads up the fashion division at Rudolf Group and Product DNA founder Robin Cornelius.

Based in Switzerland and founded in 2000, bluesign technologies monitors chemical usage in the textile industry and offers companies solutions to reduce the presence of hazardous substances. As the most significant issues in denim manufacturing occur in the dyeing and laundry processes where the highest amounts of water, energy and chemicals are used, it is a good fit for the ‘voice of the denim industry’, as the Transformers Foundation bills itself.

On joining the founder’s board Daniel Rufenacht commented: “Bluesign’s mission is to provide service-based solutions, including impact reduction, that help the industry realise responsible manufacturing with better and more sustainable chemicals. I look forward to contributing to the Transformers Foundation’s efforts and enhancing Bluesign’s focus on our clean denim goal.”
