Cone Denim deepens recycled cotton certification
Both of Cone Denim’s mills in Mexico had already achieved Textile Exchange’s Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) certification for fabrics. Now the company has gone one step further by having its fibre supplier certified to the same standard.

The company, which is part of Elevate Textiles, has engaged with a Mexican supplier of recycled cotton that has met the RCS requirements, as confirmed by Control Union. Its processes will be audited every year to maintain its standing.

“The demand for recycled cotton continues to grow. With this increased demand, we recognise the value for our customers to have third-party verification of the recycled content used in denim made by Cone,” said Cone Denim president Steve Maggard.

This allows Cone Denim to offer its customers third-party verification and documentation of recycled cotton used in the manufacturing of its fabrics in Mexico.
