Aware praises efforts of partner Denim Authority

Tunisia-based manufacturer Denim Authority has been recognised for its efforts to embed Aware’s physical tracer technology into its recycled fibre supply since their partnership officially launched back in February.

The Dutch start-up applies special ceramic partners to recycled raw material like pre-consumer cotton and polyester from used plastic bottles, creating a “unique fingerprint” that can be traced with blockchain technology.

Use of these tracers can help suppliers like Denim Authority, which also runs its own on-site laundry, to instantly verify and prove products’ recycled content to customers, as articles progress “along the entire value chain”.

A letter from Aware to the manufacturer’s general director, Daoud Hatem, published online, described Denim Authority as an “important user” of its platform and praised its team for helping to make “thousands of sustainable products” digitally traceable.

Significantly, particular attention was drawn to the work of company employee Sahli Amal, who received a ‘token of appreciation’ certificate from Aware for her “stalwart efforts” and “patience, persistence, accuracy and enthusiasm” while the producer worked to implement its traceability processes in situ.
