Diesel names new North American chief executive
Italy-based denim brand Diesel, owned by Renzo Rosso’s OTB group, has welcomed Giorgio Armani alum Matteo Lena as chief executive, responsible for the North American market, with immediate effect.
Mr Lena assumes his responsibilities following Donald Kohler’s departure to Calvin Klein Americas. He was previously senior retail vice-president for North America at Giorgio Armani. The appointee “will be responsible for harnessing the great potential of the North American market, where Diesel has its global roots”, Mr Rosso said.
Diesel lost its global chief executive, Eraldo Poletto, earlier this year after Mr Poletto had spent only seven months in the role. The search for his replacement remains ongoing.
