LaundRE’s upcycling project produces ‘exciting’ results
Denim washing initiative LaundRE has completed a pilot project to upcycle jeans, working with Jeanologia and UK-based waste textiles company LMB Textiles.

LaundRE founder Salli Deighton said on social media: “We are super excited about this R&D. Not only will we extend the life of jeans, we create stunning premium, clean, renewed unique 'new' vintage pieces.

“As denim lovers, we spend hours searching for unique worn pieces to then replicate the wear on new jeans. Why? There are 956,000 tonnes of discarded clothes in the UK each year and a lot of it is denim, which can potentially be ‘reborn’.”

She added that the project would be expanded in the New Year, and retailers should contact her if they are interested in selling the pieces.
