Jean School students tour The Vintage Showroom
Students from Amsterdam-based Jean School have visited London to explore and examine vintage menswear archive The Vintage Showroom.
Led by ROC van Amsterdam (ROCvA) fashion tutor Anneke van der Heide Wijma, the group was treated to a talk by showroom and design manager, Bhavesh Samji, then allowed to handle, sketch and interrogate their garments of interest up close.
The brainchild of Dutch non-profit House of Denim, Jean School is run by ROCvA in close collaboration with the foundation and its network. At the time of its first intake in September 2012, the “school” was described as first in the world to offer a denim-centric education. It celebrated ten years of operations in autumn 2022.
The Vintage Showroom recently scheduled several two-hour student research sessions over three days in late January, February and March, each priced at £10 or just under $13. Book via bookthevintageshowroom.setmore.com.
