Japan’s ‘Dr Denim’, Yuji Honzawa, opens Tokyo showroom
Japanese denim designer and consultant Yuji Honzawa, known as “Dr Denim”, recently opened a sample showroom in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, specially designed to show his collection of samples and vintage denim from 32-plus years of “denim life”.
The 130-square-metre, two-story space will operate by an appointment-only system.
Mr Honzawa previously spent decades with Levi’s Japan and Japanese denim brand Edwin, before starting up his own, American workwear-inspired brand, Red Card, in 2009.
He is considered to be one of the foremost denim specialists in Japan.
