Blue Motion explores the art of indigo
The city of Busto Arsizio, in Italy, with partners Arte & Arte and the Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte has dedicated the month of May to promoting art, textiles and sustainability in M(A)Y FIBER an exhibition held at the city’s Museum of Textiles. This year it includes a section called “I segreti del Blu” (The secrets of blue).
Supporting and adding to the event, chemicals company Rudolf is holding a complementary event, Blue Motion which opened yesterday, dedicated to the colour blue. The four-day exhibition held in its fashion division, Rudolf HUB1922, presents a selection of denim garments tracing the history of blue jeans from the late 1800s to the present day.
Rudolf’s Blue Motion exhibition features an immersive experience as well as highlights from the history of jeans. Historical items from Elleti Group’s M.O.D.E. Museum are on show along with products supplied by other leading names in denim design. Piero Turk and Serena Conti of Envelop Denim Design Studios provided items from their private collection. Reinterpreted Japanese indigo products by design bureau Meidea and futuristic styles designed by Paolo Gnutti, creative director of ISKO Luxury by PG, are also on show.
Blue Motion closes on May 24.
