Recognition for Interloop’s water stewardship
Based in Faisalabad, Pakistan, Interloop has achieved a gold level certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) for a facility located in Lahore, which produces denim and hosiery, and is also LEED Platinum.

The vertical denim and knitwear maker has implemented a number of measures to preserve local water resources. These include nanobubble technologies which cut water usage by 90% and switching to denim washing processes that require less water. The company also reuses some of its water needs, such as that used for chemical auto-dosing (leading to savings of 8,000 litres per day) and in spray booths (saving 4,800 litres/day).

“We are continuously improving our water efficiency across facilities and managing waste properly,” commented Muhammad Fauz ul Azeem, head of sustainability and chemical management.
