Under the name Saisei, which can mean regeneration, the premium stretch denim fabrics are made from two of Lenzing’s wood-derived manmade cellulosic fibres, Ecovero (a viscose) and Refibra (a lyocell yarn containing 20% post-consumer textile waste), and feature Roica EF, an elastane yarn made from recycled post-industrial waste, supplied by Asahi Kasei.
The denim fabrics are said to be exceptionally soft, and thus encourage uptake of fabrics with high recycled content. The collection includes three references in high, comfort and low stretch versions.
They will be presented at Kingpins in Amsterdam next week, on the Lenzing (blue zone) and Roica (yellow zone) booths.
“As Lenzing’s long-standing partner, we are thrilled to be part of this transformative journey with Roica by Asahi Kasei that embodies our concerted efforts towards driving positive change across the global denim landscape,” commented Hirofumi Inagaki, executive manager for Kaihara Denim.
