Shapewear specialist Spanx has launched its first sculpting-effect jeans in a range called SPANXsculpt ReDefine. The brand, based in New York, has chosen Lycra FitSense technology to deliver targeted sculpting, from tummy control to thigh-shaping and to butt-lifting.

The Lycra Company’s FitSense is based on a special three-component yarn. A temperature-responsive fibre is wrapped around an elastane core and sheathed with cotton fibres. The application of heat activates targeted sculpting zones on an item of clothing, and these can be placed precisely where needed.

The inaugural SPANXsculpt ReDefine range has two jeans styles, a slim and straight cut and a flared model, that come in two different washes. The classic 5-pocket designs are available in sizes 0 to 26.
