Andritz machinery in demand
The expertise of Austrian technology group Andritz in textile recycling and fibre preparation equipment has led to two new custom projects. The company based in Graz has supplied Spanish textile research centre Aitex with a state-of-the-art tearing line at its headquarters in Alicante. The reXline tearing equipment is said to be able to process a variety of raw materials and will allow the research and innovation centre to expand its ability to test recycling projects with post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste.

“The new equipment efficiently supports growing demand for textile recycling solutions and ensures our R&D remains at the forefront of innovation,” stated Aitex CEO Vincent Blanes.

Also this month, Andritz customised two teXline bast fibre processing units for Van Robaeys, a linen and hemp fibre processor based in the north of France. It acquired the refining and cottonising lines to meet growing demand for cottonised flax and hemp fibres. Van Robaeys CEO Pierre D’Arras noted that the family-owned company bought its first Andritz machinery fifty years ago.

Van Robaeys is part of the Marmara Hemp network set up by Denis Druon.
