Pacific Jeans ups recycling capacity
Bangladesh-based denim manufacturer Pacific Jeans has commissioned a new tearing line from Austrian machinery maker Andritz. The reXline tearing system set up this month will allow the jeans manufacturer to recycle its production waste.

The device installed in Pacific Jeans’ Chattogram facility is said to have a capacity of up to 800 kg of fibre per hour. The fibres it recycles will be spun in house, woven into fabric and used to make new jeans.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Andritz on this reXline installation, which helps us to build our responsible supply chain,” commented Syed M. Tanvir, Pacific Jeans managing director. He added that the Bangladesh clothing industry has “great potential for post-industrial waste recycling”.
