New twist to the fifth pocket
It is called a patch pocket, a watch pocket, a coin pocket and even a match pocket. The fifth and smallest of a pair of jean’s standard five pockets can now also go by the name of ‘cheese pocket’, thanks to a playful and very Irish collab’ between Kerrygold and Native Denims.

For a special online game, the two brands have made a limited-edition series of 500 jeans that have a few distinct details, including a buttercup-motif embroidery (in reference to the cheese maker’s logo) on the coin, or rather cheese, pocket. Why? In Irish folklore, they claim, cheese was hidden in clothing to fend off mischievous faeries.

The jeans are made from an organic raw denim fabric and manufactured in Native Denims’ Chocolate Factory in Dublin. Another subtle Irish signature can be found on them as a green thread is used for the reinforcement seams.

The jeans will be offered to the winners of an online game on kerrygoldcheesepocket.com.
