A digital future for Clever Cotton
Australia’s Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) has revealed that it has chosen KPMG as its operational partner to build a digital platform designed specifically for cotton growers.

The project is part of the organisation’s Clever Cotton five-year strategic plan to 2028 and represents a major investment. The CRDC has allocated AUD $7 million (close to €4 million) for designing, building and running the platform.

The digital assessment tool will be designed to assist Australian cotton growers in many tasks, from providing insights to make better decisions, saving time thanks to automated data management, boosting transparency, and simplifying compliance and sustainability reporting.

Beta testing the new platform could start from the 2025–26 cotton season and full functionality is expected in 2028, said KPMG Australia.

“The platform will not only streamline efficiencies for growers but also unlock new opportunities to meet global demands in an increasingly digital world,” commented CRDC Executive Director Allan Williams.
