Blackhorse Lane's allotment to house indigo garden

                        Over the winter, the pair will clear the plot ready for the spring planting season so it can be used as an educational garden for learning how to grow, extract and use natural indigo to dye fabric.
Luisa Uribe is a Colombian designer/maker based in London. She makes natural indigo textile art and luxury goods and runs workshops on natural indigo dyeing across Europe.
She said: “ Indigo is not only my favourite colour, it’s what connects me the most with nature."
Liza Mackenzie studied indigo and natural dye techniques in Japan between 2009 and 2013 and also runs workshops and creates textile products and accessories dyed with natural indigo.
Blackhorse Lane is planning to set up a small laundry near its facility in East London in 2021.
