Rajby points to Eco Fusion as ‘greener’ than cotton

Karachi-based denim producer Rajby Industries recently released Eco Fusion, a new collection rooted in the company’s desire to reduce its virgin cotton consumption and thereby promote “greener alternatives”.
The company described its alternatives-seeking mission as obligatory, owing to the cotton plant’s thirstiness, as well as the involvement of pesticides and “incrementing resources” at the growing stage, it said.
For Rajby, this includes the use of “specialised” blends composed of hemp, wood-based cellulosic fibre Tencel, Refibra (a lyocell fibre made from upcycled cotton scraps) and an unspecified form of biopolyester, all of which reportedly stem from transparent and traceable supply chains.
The Pakistani denim maker said that sustainability was its responsibility as an organisation and described its journey towards circularity as ongoing.
