Construction will start this year. Lenzing said the project represented a milestone on the path to targeted reduction of wastewater emissions across the whole group.
Director of operations at the Grimsby factory, Phil Munson, said: “This is a huge step forward in delivering the overall Lenzing strategic goals and a milestone in our long-term plan to give the Grimsby site a solid platform for sustainable growth.”
The Austrian group has also raised its earnings outlook for this year, following “significantly improved” results in the first half.
The preliminary EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) more than doubled year-on-year to €217.8 million (compared to €95.6 million in the first half of 2020). It now expects full-year earnings to reach at least €360 million.
