Menswear denim project underway at CSM

A new undergraduate menswear denim design project, overseen by industry insiders Mohsin Sajid, Sue Barrett and Miles Johnson, is underway at Central Saint Martins (CSM) art and design college in London. 

Industrial sponsors include international denim producers Isko, Advance Denim, Candiani, Cone, Crescent Bahuman, Soorty, Orta, Kipas, Hewitt Denim Mills, Denim Privé, Bossa and Arvind, alongside fibre brand Tencel, zipper and trimmings manufacturer YKK, threadmaker Coats and trade show Kingpins. 

Inside Denim has also offered its support as media sponsor. 

A total of 35 students are participating, with fabric selection set to take place on May 31 and final judging by contributing mills and an undisclosed number of “special denim judges” to be held on June 23. 

The project is the latest in a series of UK denim education courses offered by Mr Sajid.
