In no particular order, student ‘brands’ Morvah Denim (paired with Candiani), Interim (Crescent Bahuman) and Novanta (also supported by Candiani) all placed first.
Four other projects received honourable mentions. Again in no particular order, these were: Proxy (partnered with Neela and Orta Anadolu), which was praised for its suggestion of a new sustainable development goal (SDG) for the safety and security of queer people; Giotto (Kurabo), singled out for its “amazing illustrations”; Gaia (Orta Anadolu), spotlighted for the team’s creation of what was considered to be the “most comprehensive” collection; plus Lorica (Bossa), mentioned for its “inventive and beautiful use of denim”.
Two students from each of the three winning teams will be invited to attend the Kingpins trade show in Amsterdam this coming April, project tutor Mohsin Sajid confirmed via email.
