High-end Romanian jeanswear label No44, which works exclusively with Turkish denim mill Isko, has revealed its “unique” participation in the producer’s R-Two project, involving taking back used denims from any brand to be regenerated into new denim fabrics.

R-Two fabrics are blended from reused cotton and recycled polyester, certified to either Global Recycled Standard or Recycled Claim Standard, depending on the percentage of recycled content present. The reused cotton is certified to Content Claim Standard.

The collaborative effort is to be known as Rethinking Denim and is open to those residing in the European Union, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Participants may send up to three pairs of clean jeans per shipment and will receive a 20% off coupon for use against single purchases of full-price No44 jeans via email for every pair of jeans sent. The programme will run until October 31.

Bucharest-based No44 said that the partnership marked a significant milestone in its transition to circularity and its “next step towards circular denim design”.
