Kingpins prepares to turn Amsterdam blue

International denim trade show Kingpins returns to Amsterdam for two days on October 19, its latest in-person event since July’s convening in New York City.
Day one will feature a talk on ‘The Vintage Legacy’ and how to lengthen the lifespan of jeans from a panel including Orta Anadolu, The Lycra Company and The Vintage Showroom, plus a forward-looking discussion on the knowledge and skills portfolio demanded of future newcomers to the industry (looking ahead to the year 2032, in particular).
Later, key players such as Advance Denim, PVH, FibreTrace and Downforce Technologies will take a look at how technology can bolster trade compliance. An on-site ‘happy hour’ between 4pm and 7pm on the first day will also offer show goers the opportunity to gather and network in a more informal setting.
Plans for the final day of the event will include an hour-long seminar on how to move past the challenges posed by textile-to-textile recycling. AGI Denim, Coats, Renewcell, Triarchy and Simply Suzette’s Ani Wells are among those set to participate in the exchange.
Consultants from Denim Dudes will once again talk attendees through their forecast of upcoming denim trends on either day, this time with a focus on spring-summer 2024.
