Pacsun president named co-chief executive
Californian fashion company Pacsun has promoted president and board member Brie Olson (pictured) to the role of co-chief executive in place of Alfred Chang, who was recently appointed chief executive of Pacsun brand partner Fear of God

Mr Chang will remain in his current position until March 8 to help with a smooth transition, the retailer said. He will also stay on as a member of the business’ board of directors. Ms Olson will then take the helm alongside Mike Relich the following day, on March 9.

The incoming co-chief executive joined Pacsun, then Pacific Sunwear, in 2007 as senior design director for its women’s collections, later introducing kidswear and gender-neutral ranges and spearheading Pacsun’s venture into artificial intelligence and the metaverse.

“Culture is dynamic and so Pacsun must be as well,” Ms Olson commented. “I am honoured to take on this new role and excited to continue working with Mike and the rest of the team as we make big, bold swings.”

Ms Olson completed her bachelor’s degree in mass communications and business at the University of California, Berkeley, before studying for a master’s in fashion at Instituto Marangoni in Italy. She subsequently spent several years working in Milan and Florence, including three years in global product at Valentino. More recently, she completed an advanced management programme at Harvard Business School.
