Long John’s fresh collab celebrates friendship and nostalgia

Denim consultant Wouter Munnichs  - the man behind the Long John denim blog - has teamed up with designer and Blue Blanket founder Antonio di Battista for a limited-edition jacket.

The design of the Long John x Blue Blanket jacket is based on a vintage 1960s style from Mr Munnich’s archive, and the jackets are crafted in Italy.

The material is 12.5oz deadstock - unwashed left-hand Italian woven denim from the 1980s - bought by Antonio in Southern Italy.

The jackets also feature specially developed Long John x Blue Blanket patches and golden embroidery by chainstitch masters DM6 from Abruzzo.

Mr Munnichs said: “With the release of the Long John x Blue Blanket collab jacket, we celebrate our friendship, mutual passion for denim, and vintage denim, in particular.

“The friendship goes back 10 more than years when we met at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin. We stayed in contact, sharing our passion for denim and highlighting the exciting updates about Antonio’s Blue Blanket journey.”
