Mud Jeans LCA points to 42% less emissions per pair

Dutch eco-denim label Mud Jeans has published its latest life cycle analysis (LCA) report.

The document, accessible here, details how the company emitted 3.4 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per pair of jeans last year, representing a 42.3% reduction versus 2021 figures, according to cradle-to-gate LCA.

Meanwhile, its denims consumed 400 litres of water on average, up 1.8% versus the comparative period. The business attributed this rise to yarn and fabric suppliers Calik Denim and Bossa's inputs, both of whom contributed data for the very first time.

Amsterdam research platform Ecochain produced the LCA in line with the ReCiPe model.

The brand said that it aims to prepare and issue a new LCA for each of its products every year.
