It will come as no surprise that Dutch denim brand Mud Jeans has earned a circularity label from Testex. The Zurich-based testing and certification company, a founding member of Oeko-tex, has developed a circularity standard that covers three main criteria: durability, repairability and recyclability. Repairability includes the availability of repairing solutions (kits, services) while recyclability looks at transparency in labelling, ease of disassembly and design elements that make recycling possible, such as a monomaterial/monofibre makeup. 

Mud Jeans has consistently encouraged and invented smart circular solutions, with the introduction of a leasing programme and setting up a network of partners to recycle its jeans, when they can no longer be worn. 

Now, the company said, it has third party validation and a label to prove it.
