Levi’s celebrates 10 years of Eureka Lab

                        In 2013, the then-new CEO Chip Bergh brought the R&D space close to its headquarters, believing innovation would be the key to growth.
In 2011, the Eureka Lab developed water-saving finishing techniques and in 2014, the team launched the Screened Chemistry programme. Both processes were open-sourced and shared across the industry.
In 2015, Eureka helped develop the Levi’s women’s denim collection, reducing the number of master patterns from 65 to 30, saving money and enabling a nimbler response to trends, said the company.
In 2018, the team launched Project FLX, an operating model that digitizing design files and automated parts of the jeans finishing process, including working with lasers.
Bart Sights, VP of technical innovation at LS&Co, said: “Our most radical undertakings are the result of a team that’s willing to think unconventionally and take risks.
