Accelerating Circularity publishes annual report

The Accelerating Circularity Project (ACP) – a scheme that is working with brands, collection and recycling agencies to set up networks for recycling old clothes – has published its 2023 report in which it details how a second grant from the Walmart Foundation will enable it to scale up and expand into Europe.

ACP launched a new working group, Circular Systems for Trims and Ignored Materials, in June 2023. The group brings together major suppliers of trims, adhesives, thread, laminates, labels and equipment to tackle the challenges of removing and/or recycling these products in textile-to-textile systems.

Karla Maguder, ACP founder, said: “In 2024, through support from another grant from the Walmart Foundation, ACP will embark on Building Circular Systems through the application of the textile waste hierarchy, education, and engagement.

“The new phase of trials will include the US, EU, and an expansion into other geographic regions.”
