Circular Textile conference to be held in Brussels

23/01/2025
The final programme for the fourth Sustainable & Circular Textiles conference has been released ahead of its 2025 edition, which takes place in Brussels on April 7 and 8. The event plans to address issues related to the rise of fast fashion and its impacts on the second-hand clothing trade, emerging recycling technologies and what is needed to build a viable circular ecosystem for textiles in Europe.

Speakers lined up for the event include a panel talk on supply chain transparency with Romain Narcy, of Ereks & Blue Matters, and Flavio De Haas, of safety footwear brand Steel Blue. A panel talk on textile waste management features Cécile Martin, of Refashion, and Sara Elkholy, in charge of circular fashion innovation at the British Fashion Council. The first day will also include presentations by Re-Fresh Global, which is developing an enzymatic recycling process, Kirsi Roine, of Infinited Fiber Company, and Dr Fabio Silvestri, from Gr3n, a company developing a microwave-assisted depolymerisation method.

On the second day of the conference, Renasens will present its waterless recycling technology, Rematters its textile-to-textile recycling project in Switzerland, Selenis its project to build a new textile regenerating facility and Aditya Birla on scaling recycled content. Accelerating Circularity founder Karla Magruder will be hosting a workshop and a visit to the Resortecs disassembly facility is scheduled for the end of the day.

The conference is organised by the Centre for Management Technology, a company based in Singapore, which specialises in events addressing sustainability in the chemicals, fuels, agricultural waste and plastics industries.
