Dramatic ‘highs and lows’ and FitSense progress from AGI

Pakistan-based vertical manufacturer AGI Denim has showcased an updated dye technology that enables more pronounced ‘highs and lows’ on garments, enabled by a yarn dyeing process that leaves the centre whiter.

Following customer requests, the development team worked to achieve a more exaggerated richness of the 'high abrasion/low abrasion, high intensity/low intensity' patterns along the seams, reflecting a vintage look.

Rather than increase the washes, AGI has utilised its Ceramic Blue development, also producing a wider range of colours, including anthracite and black.

A combination of dye, yarn, weaving and finishing updates mean the look takes 25% less time compared with a similar depth of indigo on conventional fabric. This could also result in improved efficiency values, according to head of product development and marketing Henry Wong.

Another highlight of AGI’s spring-summer 2027 collection are fabrics containing Lycra’s fibres. As well as the new VintageFX fibre, which allows increased control for comfort stretch while promoting vintage characteristics, AGI has also been developing an updated fabric with FitSense. When heat is applied to the garment, Fitsense allows specific areas to be more supportive. AGI’s development has added stretch to both the warp and weft, meaning there is control but still movement in the warp direction, making the garments feel both supportive and comfortable.
