No lockdown blues for Calik Denim

The digitised nature of lockdown-living for workers, combined with the ever-rising tide of environmental consciousness around the world, inspired Calik Denim’s SS22 collection, the company says.
This homewear-focused, technology-driven range includes four “brand new” concepts: Blue H, D-Leisure, E-Denim and Dyepro.
Blue H means a 20% hemp content (from pieces ranging from rigid fit to stretch), while D-Leisure offers a 10-12 ounce denim in both rigid and “comfort stretch” options. D-Leisure contains Tencel (formed from the processing of sustainably sourced wood pulp), plus CBD oil. The company was keen to stress the hemp plant’s sustainable properties in its press release.
Designed with circularity and full traceability in mind, E-Denim is created with the “maximum amount of recycled content” that can be achieved with ring spinning. Included in its patented yarn mix is recycled cotton and recycled Tencel.
Lastly, Calik Denim’s new Dyepro for the SS22 season is designed to use (and generate) no water at the indigo dyeing stage, so as to limit its industrial wastewater offshoots overall.
