Isko achieves Bluesign approval for fabrics

Turkish denim mill Isko has become the only mill in Europe currently to have Bluesign approval for a range of denim fabrics.
Bluesign is governed by Bluesign Technologies, a Swiss company that monitors the chain from chemical formulation to finished product to keep chemicals of concern out of the process.
Isko describes it as a “hard-won honour”. Articles are made from bluesign-approved chemicals and raw materials, and are manufactured with a minimum impact on people and the environment.
Ebru Özkucuk, head of sustainability at Isko, said: “When the goal is big, the effort is big. Choosing the right partner means taking safe steps. I can gladly say that we will continue on our way with the bluesign chemical follow-up process.”
Jill Dumain, CEO of bluesign technologies, added: “It is a great pleasure to acknowledge Isko as the only denim mill in Europe with bluesign-approved fabrics, showing their highest commitment to responsible production, responsible chemistry and responsible use of resources.”
Isko is part of Sanko Tekstil, the textile division of the Sanko Group.
